Dear Somerset Woods Residents, Employees and Family Members,

Somerset Woods Rehabilitation and Nursing Center primary focus is to provide the safest environment possible for our beloved residents and staff. This is a very difficult time for all of us and we are looking forward to getting back to normalcy as soon as possible

Somerset Woods continues to test all unvaccinated employees on a weekly basis. In addition, any employee or resident experiencing Covid-19 symptoms is tested even if vaccinated.  This week’s COVID-19 testing resulted in 3 additional employees and 1 resident testing positive for COVID-19 (the total count is now 8 employees and 10 residents). We will be following the CDC and NJDOH guidance for contact tracing and isolating anyone else that may of had exposure.

I am pleased to inform you that CMS has updated their guidance on indoor visitation. WE WILL NOW BE ALLOWING INDOOR VISITS AT ALL TIMES ON ALL UNITS EVEN DURING AN OUTBREAK. However, we are still required to adhere to the Core principles of Covid-19 Infection Prevention which includes proper screening before entering the facility. Please keep in mind that we are still offering video chat through our Telehealth system.

I appreciate your understanding and continued support. We know this is a difficult time for everyone.  We remain focused on keeping or residents and employees safe and will do our best to keep communication flowing as the situation evolves.
